![]() After applying a coupon code (which was made available by a company for its advertisement and amusement park’s promotion) we finally purchased the tickets at $38.99 per person (excluding taxes). The tickets were available online at $44.99 per person (10 August, 2015). The same is available online at a lower cost which is date-dependent ($44.99 – $64.99). Our busses left the terminus at 9 am and we reached the park at 10:30 am (opening time of the park). They run enough busses so that no one is left behind no pre-booking is required. They have dedicated busses that take passengers directly to the amusement park without any stops in between. We were a group of 3 people and took the NJ Transit bus from Port Authority Bus Terminal, New York to Six Flags Great Adventure. There are a dozen roller coasters in the park and each one is different from others in more ways than one. The amusement park offers the perfect blend of screams, thrill and elegance. All these years I used to confidently believe that roller coasters would never scare me and then Six Flags Great Adventure happened. Six Flags is the living version of the animated amusement parks from the computer game. There was GREEN LANTERN, “wait, where are the seats on the car?” is what we asked the operator, “Sir, this is a stand up roller coaster”, “WHAT!?”Īs a kid I was obsessed with the computer game – Roller Coaster Tycoon and wondered what it would be like to hop on the speedy coasters with 90 degree drops and corkscrews and vertical loops and helixes. Unfortunately, the animatronics and tunnel were removed some time ago. Then began a streak of rides on the amazing roller coasters. What else made flume two different from the original? It featured a tunnel that spanned down the final drop. This character would swing his ax towards riders, also creating a dramatic effect. Flume two’s first lift hill had its own giant lumberjack animatronic character. As logs went up the lift hill, Snidely would saw away at a log, creating the effect that it could fall onto riders at any moment. Atop flume one’s first lift hill sat a villain animatronic named Snidely Whiplash. Sid and Marty Krofft, whom produced shows in the Krofft Puppet Theatre at the park, used their skills to create characters for the two flume attractions. Though both rides share the same drop heights and speed, Six Flags added a few elements to create two different ride experiences. ![]() Sharing the same queue, riders could decide if they’d rather ride the first log flume or the newly-constructed second version. In 1968, Six Flags Over Texas installed a second log flume, right next to the first, to increase rider capacity. This builds on our recent efforts to offer new events and dining experiences by also introducing new rides for thrill-seekers and families, all while making improvements to many existing popular rides.” ![]() “This investment is central to our strategy to create fun and memorable experiences for every member of the family and reinforces Six Flags’ position as the leader in thrills. “At Six Flags, our relentless drive for innovation is powered by our passion to create moments of pure joy and excitement for our guests,” said Selim Bassoul, President and CEO of Six Flags. The new attraction will provide family fun for thrill seekers of all ages. A makeover of the world’s first-ever log ride, El Aserradero, El Rio Lento will feature one new lift hill and two big drops, including a steep nosedive. ![]() New for 2024, Six Flags Over Texas is set to unveil El Rio Lento, one of the world’s longest log flumes. These new investments span over a dozen of the company’s parks, which include new flat rides, fresh theming experiences and multiple new roller coasters. Six Flags Entertainment Corporation today announced one of the most substantial investments planned for its parks in more than a decade.
